Observe water ingress

Taking off the turbidity meter casing allows us to better observe the water ingress into the equipment. Open the upper cover of the defoaming tank, and you can observe that the leftmost side of the equipment is the water inlet for the turbidity single meter, the right side is the water inlet for the measuring tank, and the middle is the overflow port (the hole is the largest).

Equipment installation precautions

During the on-site installation process, if there is an incorrect installation method, it will easily lead to poor drainage of the equipment. The incorrect installation method is as follows:

Example 1: Use two very long (more than 1 meter) hoses to guide the water from the water outlet and the sewage outlet into the sewer respectively. The hose is too long and air in the pipe will increase drainage resistance.

Example 2: Using a tee to connect the water outlet and sewage outlet to the same hose will increase the flow in the pipe, causing poor drainage.

Example 3: The hose connected to the water outlet or sewage outlet is higher than the water outlet and sewage outlet of the equipment, causing drainage backflow.

Example 4: The hose connected from the water outlet or sewage outlet is looped or bent, resulting in poor drainage.

Therefore, short and straight hoses should be used for drainage when the equipment is installed to ensure smooth drainage.

The emergence and solution of the false "water leakage"

(1) "Water leakage" illusion: ① Observe whether there is water inside the equipment (base plate, back plate, measuring cylinder). If there is water, it means there has been water overflow before. ② If you see water overflowing from the measuring cylinder, it is like the equipment is leaking. ③ Observe that there is no abnormality in the upper cylinder and no water overflows, while water is constantly leaking out of the lower cylinder.

(2) Reasons for the false appearance of "water leakage": There are two reasons for the above phenomenon: first, the incoming water flow is too large, and the water overflows directly from the defoaming tank; second, the drainage is not smooth, causing water to overflow from the measuring tank. ③

(3) Solution: ① Control the inlet water flow within 300mL/min, and continue to supply water steadily. ② Unplug the hose due to poor drainage. After the equipment drains smoothly, the "water leakage" phenomenon will disappear immediately. After replacing it with a short and straight drainage hose, the equipment "water leakage" problem can be solved (see point 2 for installation precautions).
